Im just so glad to be alive and saved today....I don't know about you but I'm getting ready for the SHOUT! (I Thessalonians 5) When Christ returns, this chick will be ready. Can't do hell and I most certainly can't do the tribulation period.

Just trying something out

I'm trying to learn how to post images in my blog. My big sis makes amazing flower baskets and I want to post them on this site, so this is a practice blog. isnt' the picture awesome though. Makes me think of Peace and time alone with God!

Let's Write

Today I am encouraged to start editing my book! If your a writer you know the ups and downs of writing a good book. Though I have not published any YET, I have written a few thousand stories in my short lived life. I remember when God showed me the word SCRIBE and at the time I didn't know what a scribe was, so I looked it up. I mention that because today when I looked to change my template, I saw the one I'm currently blogging on and it's called, you guessed it, SCRIBE. So it was a gentle reminder that I need to keep my pen ready! I would love to hear from some of you great writers out there! I'm really struggling to find a good editor and one that I can trust. So my new plan is to take a writing course in the fall and network with some english teachers and find a good editor. Any other suggestions?

the weekend

Hi guys
Once again I'm recovering from a long weekend! Last week was our organization's state assembly and boy was I blessed, blessed, blessed! It's something about being around the saints of God everyday for six days straight that strengthens me. Yes I'm tired, but I was blessed by so many of the awesome preachers that spoke among other great things that took place during the assembly. My mom was ordained as a new Pastor! yeah! I screamed my lungs out with joy, I'm so proud of her, my whole family is actually. So I've been celebrating and praising God for what he's doing. Today is sooooo Hot, if it's not raining-its HOt, what a summer! I hope we can fire up the barbie today, you know the hubby and I love to cook out. talk to you soon, be blessed and don't stress!!

Just posting

God Bless
Just wanting to keep up with my post. I just finished the fourth of July weekend. Celebrating our country's independance! (I think I spelled that right) LOL. anyhow, no big party to plan, just had an intimate bbq with the family. my hubby cooked some great ribs, burgers and all and we pigged out till we fell asleep. Well I'm off to Lake Compounce for a day with the family. Wish me luck.

Story of the Week

Gianna's Joy

It was a snowy afternoon and Gianna was waiting for her husband to come home. Usually she would be at work, but she was sick with the flu. She gathered her strength and sat in her bay window, looking out at the snow as it fell. Thoughts of shoveling and driving through the bad weather-made her feel down.

Tonight was her parent's 30th wedding anniversary party and she just had to be there to celebrate. With her head pounding and nose running, she cringed at the idea of picking out something cute and comfy to wear. Time was not on her side, the party was just a few hours away and she hadn't even combed her hair today.

All the way across the room, the phone was ringing.

By the time Gianna got to it, she had missed the call, but thankful the person called back again. "Hello" she answered. To Gianna's suprise, her dad was on the other end. "I'm outside kiddo, open up the door" her dad told her. Gianna peeped out her window and smiled when she saw her mom and dad standing on her front porch.

"We heard you weren't feeling well, and since the weather is bad, we moved the celebration to next saturday" Gianna's mom said as she handed her a wonderful fruit basket. It wasn't long before Gianna's husband and three kids were home. Everyone worked to clean up her home, fix her a great dinner and even helped her style her hair.

At the end of the evening, everyone drank some hot chocolate and watched some old family videos together. Gianna was grateful to God for her family and for their concern. A few days later she was back on her feet and feeling back to normal. Gianna got word that one of the elderly women at her church had got the flu and wasn't doing well.

So she asked some of the sisters from church to go with her and visit the woman. They helped to clean the woman's house, cook her some dinner and prayed with her. As Gianna was washing the elderly woman's dishes, she realized something-she was called to this. She drove home smiling as she thought of how they had helped that woman feel better about herself and her home.

So Gianna prayed and asked God about her new found desire to help the sick. She met with her pastor's wife and talked about how she could start helping those that were sick and shut in at their church. So prayerfully they formed a team of women who felt the same desire that Gianna felt. Together they worked to start a new ministry to the sick.

Even with a husband and three kids, Gianna made time to take the joy she received that day when her parents showed up, and share it with whomever would receive it. From house to house she went and brightened someone's day. Giana was amazed that God would use her to do such a great work for Him. She couldn't believe all that she had learned and did, just from being sick that day.
